River Dane: water levels along the river

We have 3 gauges on the River Dane. 1 of them reads below normal for the date, and none is running high.

The gauges are in Cheshire. Reading the gauges in order shows how a rise or a dry spell travels downstream, usually over a day or more on a big river. Autumn is often a low point for rivers after the summer, until steady rain returns.

About the River Dane

River Dane

The River Dane is a tributary of the River Weaver that originates in the Peak District area of England. The name of the river is probably from the Old Welsh dafn, meaning a "drop or trickle", implying a slow-moving river.
