What this means
Slad Brook at Slad Steanbridge Lane is running at a record low at 0.12 m.
No reading on record has been lower: the old record low was 0.13 m, from August 8, 2021. The usual range here runs from 0.13 m to 0.40 m.
It has barely moved over the past 24 hours. Without real rain upstream, that is unlikely to change quickly. In the last month it has stayed between 0.10 m and 0.13 m.
Autumn rain usually starts to lift rivers again after the summer low.

Fishing and paddling
At low levels, many rivers become a walk-and-paddle trip. Fish hold in deeper pools and spook easily.
Flood alerts and warnings come from the Environment Agency.
About Slad Brook
Slad Brook is a small river in Gloucestershire, England. It rises in woodland to the north of Down Hill, and to the south of the village of Sheepscombe. It heads in a southerly and south-westerly direction through open countryside until it reaches the north-easterly edge of Stroud. It is then culverted beneath the town. Formerly it was a tributary of the River Frome, but was diverted into the Thames and Severn Canal as part of flood defence works shortly after the canal was abandoned in 1954.
